Version: 1.0.14

Price: 9.99

PhoneMyPC is an exciting new way to connect with up to three Window’s PC’s from your Android based phone. No network knowledge needed, no network configuration required, features work from anywhere in the world so long as you have an internet connection. PhoneMyPC has something for everybody. Flash isn’t yet support on Android phones, we were able to play flash on a PC and view that using this app.

What

Take a snapshot of what’s on your PC (check up on your teenager). Show your presentation on a big screen using your phone as a wireless mouse and keyboard. Provide remote support from anywhere. Work on your PC from your phone at the beach. All of this with a trivial setup. And these are the just the basic features.

How

I should say the setup was a breeze. It requires users to install a server app on their computer. Enter the same credentials for both the computer and the phone app and this is enough to make them start communicating with each other. This app and the Phone app can talk to each other either through the same Wi-Fi if they can be connected, or through a secure hosted server. Their website says that this communication will be SSL enabled soon. I will look forward to that.

Here is a list of all the features that this software provides.

Control Mouse+Keys

Take control of the mouse and keyboard of any PC. This feature works from anyplace, but is designed for situations when you can directly see the PC’s monitor. Perfect for business people to control their PC while giving presentations, even if the PC is secured behind a corporate firewall. Ideal for controlling your media PC at home from the comfort of your couch. When using Control Mouse+Keys, operations performed on your phone are also performed on your computer.

View SnapShot

Get a high-quality image of whatever is on the PC screen, anytime, from anyplace. Pan and zoom while viewing the image. Optionally save the image to your SD card. Perfect for parents monitoring their children’s computer usage, employers verifying employee activities, or business people needing a quick snapshot of a presentation from a remote location.

View Live

Passively watch the activity on your PC from anyplace.

Interact Live

View the PC screen on your phone and control the mouse and keyboard from your phone. Perfect for remote support, or to get work done while on the road.

Execute Actions

Configure any PC to execute a program when you tap a list item on your phone–from anywhere in the world! Perfect for remotely starting a presentation, pranking a friend, or just about anything else.

Control Processes

See a list of running programs, change execution priority, close or terminate any of them. Perfect for developers to kill out of control programs, or to help stop viruses and trojans, even if they have disabled your task manager.

Control Windows

See a list of applicaiton windows on any PC. Close any window, hide/show, minimize/maximize any window from anyplace. Great for parents wanting to hide/close browser windows, games and more.

Usefulness : If you need to access your computer remotely using your phone, this is your perfect solution. It is easy, simple and intuitive.

Price :19.99

Version: 5.0.0002

What :

If you are in the market for an outlook client, look no more. Presenting the best that there is – Exchange by Touchdown. We are very pleased with its ease of use, the functionality it provides and the quality of the interfaces and the layout itself. Nitrodesk Inc has left nothing wanting.

How:

Setup was a breeze. Just enter your Domain, UserId, Password and the server name and that is it. No, seriously, that is it. Quick Configuration takes care of the rest.

This app has so many settings that it is almost like working on the Outlook client itself. You can set this as a home page widget. One glance at your android home screen shows you your new emails, tasks or calendar. Create/Edit/View tasks if you are using ActiveSync or Exchange 2007 modes. Simple and friendly Home Page provides you with quick access to the common high level functions. From here, you can go to your email, calendar or contacts, configure your settings, or quickly compose a new email.

As you can see, there is a plethora of settings to choose from.

What we really liked is the fact that you can customize the alerts and change the LED color for the tasks, emails and appointments.

The UI is pretty intuitive. After you install it, you will be up and about in no time. Here is the appointments screen.

Here are the screenshots for composing an email. You can select the addresses easily in the To and Cc tabs, with autocomplete assistance.

and more…

Here is the email view.

Notice the filter option. It lets you filter emails by flag, conversation, unread mails, by sender etc. This proves to be very useful. Finally, here is the notification screen shot

Here is the tasks screen shot.

From the Inbox, you can do pretty much everything you do from the outlook client itself, like deleting a mail, moving it to another folder, mark it for follow-up etc.

All that has been said here is just a tip of the iceberg. If you are interested, there is a trial version for 5 days. Get yourself started with that and you should be able to see if this glove fits your hand.

Usefulness : Best outlook app. Test drive it before you buy it to make sure it works for your server configuration.

QR Code :
